Typical season flow includes:

• Summer training camp and tournaments (July to August)
   
• Tryouts and team selection
   
• League orientation and Opening Day

• End of regular season, Turkey Bowl, playoffs, and championship

 YALD maintains standards designed to support a safe, organized environment for participants and families.

Game day standards include:

• Players arrive early for warm-ups and check-in
   
• Weekly check-in is required before playing
   
• Field access is limited to players, coaches, volunteers, and staff
   
• Games are structured with clear timing and an emphasis on sportsmanship and respect

Coaches and volunteers are expected to model YALD’s values and maintain a positive, inclusive environment.

Standards include:

• Consistent communication and professional conduct
   
• Tracking participation and growth with regular reporting
   
• Youth protection expectations, including appropriate supervision and boundaries
   
• No private social media interactions with youth participants
   

 YALD supports development beyond game performance. We emphasize academic effort, discipline, time management, responsibility, and leadership. When available, continued development includes community service, workshops, check-ins, mentorship opportunities, and skill development activities beyond the season. 

 YALD NEXT supports alumni transitioning from college to career with resume and LinkedIn support, interview preparation, financial literacy resources, and networking opportunities. 

  ALD newsletters document the season through updates, highlights, and recognition. We also provide program documents that outline expectations, structure, and standards. 

 Families can stay connected through registration and program updates. Partners and funders can support leadership development, equipment, events, and year-round mentorship opportunities.
